Terms of Service

Last updated: 17 October 2026

The short version: Use Tri Lab to plan and track your triathlon training. Don't misuse it. It's a training tool, not a medical or coaching professional — talk to a doctor before starting a new training program, and use your own judgement about what your body can handle.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account or using Tri Lab ("the Service", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. Who can use Tri Lab

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.

3. Your account

4. Medical & safety disclaimer

Tri Lab is a training-planning tool, not medical advice. The training plans, pace/power zones, and AI coach responses are generated from general training methodology and the data you provide — they are not a substitute for guidance from a doctor, physiotherapist, or qualified coach.

5. The AI coach

The in-app coach ("Coach Johnsin") uses a third-party large language model to answer questions and suggest schedule changes based on your training data. It can make mistakes, misunderstand context, or give advice that isn't right for you. Schedule changes it proposes are only applied after you explicitly confirm them. Don't treat its responses as medical or professional coaching advice.

6. Connected third-party services

You may optionally connect Strava or similar services to sync activity data. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms — we're not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or data practices. You can disconnect a linked service at any time from Connected Apps in your profile.

7. Acceptable use

Please don't:

8. Your content

You own the training data, notes, and messages you enter. By using the Service you give us permission to store, process, and display that content back to you as part of providing the Service (for example, generating your plan or answering a coach chat message using your training history).

9. Subscriptions and fees

New accounts get a 7-day free trial of Pro, with no payment details needed. When it ends, your account moves to the Free plan (Week 1 of your plan and 3 coach messages a day) unless you subscribe to Pro or Elite.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and generated plan content (excluding your personal training data), belongs to Tri Lab or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute it without permission.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any training plan will achieve a particular result (including finishing or hitting a target time in a race).

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tri Lab and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your use of the Service or your training. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, where applicable).

13. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time by contacting hughes.alex@hotmail.co.uk to close your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know (for example, by notice in the app). Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless local law where you live requires otherwise.
